Vacation Bible School 2016

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near…For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” -Isaiah 55:6,10-11

God’s Word in the Bible accomplishes God’s purposes, especially when we gladly hear it, learn it, and store it deep in our hearts! It is life-changing to have God’s Word in our lives. We pray that the 95 children who came to VBS this year will also be forever changed.

Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered at VBS. We shared God’s word and it was another great year!

Our theme this year was Barnyard Roundup. At VBS your children learned that Jesus gathers us together! Children want to belong, be understood, and be valued. They want a best friend forever (BFF) to stand by them no matter what! At Barnyard Roundup, children learned in the Bible that Jesus is better than a BFF! Jesus, our Savior, knows us by name, rounds us up, and brings us home. He is with us always and forever—no matter what!

Psalm 23 was our Bible Memory for the week. This beloved psalm encourages us to trust that our Lord is our Good Shepherd who is with us now and forever, provides all that we need, and protects us. After Barnyard Roundup, by God’s grace and through the Holy Spirit, this psalm will be in the hearts and on the lips of every child, youth, and adult participant. Now that’s a VBS with Purpose!

God Bless,

Pastor Joel
